In 2018, I created Listen to Black Women – a multi-platform effort to acknowledge the experiences of Black women; Champion the achievements and milestones of Black women; And highlight the essence of Black womanhood. It has grown into a multi-media platform with social media content on Instagram at @Listen2BlackWomen, editorials on Listen2BlackWomen.net, and podcast episodes of ‘Black Girl Banter’ on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc. I am the CEO, sole contributor, brand manager, podcast producer, content creator, and everything in between. I believe this brand houses some of my best work, definitely all of my purpose work, from my earliest years in college.

Which Quarantiner Are You?

A carousel post calling users to share which quarantine personality they identify with. [2020]

  • The “Which Quarantiner Are You” carousel post compiled the different ways people were behaving in isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic to show the similarities among people during a time when we were more separated than ever.

  • COVID-19 forced people into their homes with no end in sight. Every day, we were learning of more people dying and more ways we could be next. It was incredibly dangerous to be around people physically because simply sharing air with another human could be your last breath.

How do we respond to that? This carousel post aimed to summarize the answer through different archetypes.

  • This post marks Listen to Black Women’s first viral post.

Album Anniversaries

Celebrating culturally relevant albums’ anniversaries through our favorite songs. [2020]

  • Listen to Black Women

  • Graphic Designer

  • On the anniversary of culturally relevant albums like ‘Fever’ and ‘Period,’ The “Album Anniversaries” series celebrated their releases by calling for the audience to share their favorite songs from the project associated with the prompt.

  • The mission of the series was to find a creative way to commemorate albums by Black women while getting the audience engaged. At the time, adding songs to your Instagram story was a very popular trend as people were finding new ways to share. The “Which Quarantiner Are You” project showed posts inciting others to share on their Instagram stories were incredibly successful, so I wanted to repeat that.

  • Each “Album Anniversaries” post called for users to interact with the post, which was a success for the brand, but also allowed users to spark conversations with their own followers through their Instagram stories.
